Our CCTV Policy

This policy sets out how we (CANTEEN) collect, use, disclose and store the data obtained through our CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) system.

This policy applies to all CANTEEN KIOSK locations whereby CCTV monitoring is in operation.

Purpose and scope

Our CCTV system captures video and audio recordings for the purpose of enhancing securing and reducing the risk of theft at CANTEEN KIOSK self-serve locations. The information collected may include images, audio, and any other data captured by the CCTV cameras.

Principles

The following principles apply:

  • CCTV will be installed only when and where it is a necessary and a proportionate way of dealing with a problem;

  • CANTEEN will ensure that all cameras are set up in a way that ensures that there is minimal intrusion of privacy, and that any intrusion is fully justified;

  • Signage will be displayed prominently to inform all individuals in the workplace that CCTV is in use;

  • No images and information will be stored beyond those which are strictly required for the stated purpose of a surveillance camera system;

  • Access to retained images and information will be restricted, with clearly defined rules on who can gain access.

Storage and retention

Recordings are stored securely and access is restricted to authorised parties only. We retain CCTV footage for a 30 day period, unless there is a specific reason to retain it for a longer duration, such as an ongoing investigation or legal requirement.

Access and disclosure

By using CANTEEN KIOSK services, individuals acknowledge and consent to the recording of their image and audio for the purposes stated in this Privacy Policy.

Consent

Access to CCTV recordings is limited to CANTEEN management, and can be viewed by Building Management staff. We may disclose CCTV footage to law enforcement or other authorised authorities when required by law or in response to a valid legal request.

Security measures

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to safeguard the security and integrity of the CCTV recordings, including access controls, ongoing security assessments and monthly reviews.

Individual rights

Individuals have the right to request access to their personal data captured by the CCTV system. Requests for access, correction, or deletion of personal data should be submitted in writing to hello@canteen.work.

Updates to CCTV policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The most current version of the Privacy Policy will be available on our website.
